HOMS, Banco Popular, and MTA are recognized for promoting health tourism

During the inaugural cocktail of the 4th International Health and Wellness Tourism Congress, these three organizations were awarded for promoting innovation, collaboration and the growth of health tourism.

Santo Domingo September 7, 2018.– The Dominican Health Tourism Association (ADTS) and AF Strategic Communication celebrated the inaugural cocktail of the 4th. of the International Congress of Health and Wellness Tourism, in which the Metropolitan Hospital of Santiago (HOMS), the Dominican Popular Bank (BPD), and the Medical Tourism Association (MTA) were recognized, for promoting the growth of health tourism in the country, as well as integration and collaboration, from their respective sectors.

During the opening of the event, Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, president of the ADTS, indicated that this association favors the best practices and modernization of the health and tourism sectors to consolidate the country and the region as a destination for health, wellness, and tourism. preferred investment.

Prior to the awards ceremony, Amelia Reyes Mora, president of AF Strategic Communications, said that coordinated efforts by the public and private sectors are needed to build a solid reputation of the Dominican Republic as a health tourism destination and for the Nation is attractive in terms of trust, competitiveness, quality, and safety for the visitor.

The ADTS recognized the Banco Popular Dominicano (BPD), for the institutional support for initiatives that favor the development and modernization of the health and tourism industries in the Dominican Republic and its actions aimed at promoting investment and sustainable development of tourism in Health.

The plaque was delivered by the Vice Minister of Tourism, Fausto Fernández, on behalf of the Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier García and Amelia Reyes Mora, to Juan Lehoux, Executive Vice President of Business and Investment Business, on behalf of Manuel Grullón, President of the Popular Group

Similarly, HOMS was awarded for being a benchmark for innovation, medical updating, technology transfer and for the successful development of the Center for Robotic Surgery, actions that favor the positioning of the Dominican Republic as a health tourism destination.

This award was received by Dr. Rafael Sánchez Español, president of the HOMS Board of Directors from the Minister of Health, Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas with Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso.

While the Medical Tourism Association (MTA), an international medical tourism association, received the distinction for its efforts to promote the integration, collaboration and best practices of the global health tourism value chain. The recognition was received by Jonathan Edelheit, CEO of the MTA, from Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso and Amelia Reyes Mora.
