He explained that the procedure involves inserting a catheter into the affected area in order to deliver treatment through it without the need for surgery.<\/p>\n<p>At the meeting, which became an exchange of experiences and good practices with prestigious Dominican cardiologists, Cubeddu described this treatment as &#8220;safe and effective&#8221;, with results comparable to those of surgery. The procedure is also simple, which is why only four doctors are needed to carry it out, Cubeddu said.<\/p>\n<p>Although the chances are low, some complications such as bleeding and perforations can occur, but the doctor made clear that these are unusual in patients.<\/p>\n<p>Cubeddu, who also leads Cleveland Clinic Florida&#8217;s Regional Structural Heart Disease Programme, stressed that one of the key features of the procedure is faster recovery.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The patient goes home the next day and feels little pain, which is why this method has become so important,&#8221; Dr Cubeddu noted.<\/p>\n<p>At Cleveland Clinic Florida, percutaneous cardiac treatment is used in a range of cases: valve disease, blocked arteries, and congenital and electrical heart conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The centre&#8217;s Heart and Vascular Institute is one of the largest in the United States, and its doctors are leaders in cardiology and heart disease research.<\/p>\n<p>Cleveland Clinic is also known for its heart transplant work and has been ranked the No. 1 hospital in the country for cardiology and heart surgery for 24 consecutive years by US News &amp; World Report, Cubeddu pointed out during the lecture for cardiologists, held at the Epic Center in Blue Mall.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting brought together leading Dominican cardiologists from the Hospital General de la Plaza de la Salud, Hospital Salvador Gautier, Centros de Diagn\u00f3stico, Medicina Avanzada y Telemedicina (Cedimat), Centro Cardiovascular de Santo Domingo, Cl\u00ednica Corazones Unidos, Medicina Cardiovascular Asociada and the Asociaci\u00f3n Instituto Dominicano de Cardiolog\u00eda, among others.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-12640 gallery-columns-3 gallery-size-thumbnail'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/en\/foto-1-ana-luisa-uria-roberto-cubeddu-y-julieta-javier-2\/'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Foto-1-Ana-Luisa-Uria-Roberto-Cubeddu-y-Julieta-Javier-150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/en\/roberto-cubeddu-2\/'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Roberto-Cubeddu--150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/en\/dr-roberto-cubeddu-2\/'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Dr.-Roberto-Cubeddu--150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cardiologist Roberto Cubeddu of Cleveland Clinic Florida presented advances in percutaneous cardiac treatment, a safe and effective technique, in Santo Domingo.
