Arium Health, an information technology consulting and services company, in coordination with AF Comunicaci\u00f3n Estrat\u00e9gica, an agency specialising in health and health tourism communication, held a cocktail reception to open the first Latin American Digital Health Congress, with the aim of presenting the event and strengthening relationships between players in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>Fedor Vidal, CEO and Managing Partner of Arium Health USA and organiser of the congress, welcomed guests, noting that it would be a day of great educational value: &#8220;This gathering aims to create a space for healthy discussion about health in the region, the key issues in the sector and how technology can directly help solve the problems and challenges we face.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Amelia Reyes Mora, president of AF Comunicaci\u00f3n Estrat\u00e9gica, the agency coordinating the congress, expressed her hope that this first gathering will continue to drive a change of mindset that enables digital transformation in the health sector. &#8220;From today, we are opening the doors for our country to move faster in facing the challenges and opportunities that digital transformation in health brings us,&#8221; said Reyes Mora.<\/p>\n<p>Arium&#8217;s CEO took the opportunity to announce that the 1st Diagnostic Study on the use of technology in the Dominican Republic&#8217;s health sector is being prepared and will be presented in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The day of professional updating will be led by the Minister of Public Health, Dr Rafael S\u00e1nchez C\u00e1rdenas, and will feature more than 30 local and international speakers. Speakers will include Dr Pl\u00e1cido G\u00f3mez, Deputy Minister for Science and Technology at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT); Dr Pedro Luis Castellanos, Superintendent of Health and Occupational Risks; and Dr Alejandro Cambiaso, president of the Dominican Health Tourism Association.<\/p>\n<p>Also taking part will be H\u00e9ctor S\u00e1nchez of HOMS; Arturo Aceves-Serrano of Philadelphia International Medicine; Luis Alberto Rodr\u00edguez of the Diabetes, Obesity and Specialties Medical Centre (CEMDOE) and AFFINIS; Edgar Matamoros of Ricoh Latin America; Juan Carlos Restrepo of Humano; Jos\u00e9 Manuel Vargas of the Dominican Association of Health Risk Administrators;
