The guide will be presented at the <a href=\"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/sala-de-prensa\/anuncian-5ta-edicion-del-congreso-internacional-de-turismo-de-salud-y-bienestar\/\"><em><strong>5th International Health and Wellness Tourism Congress<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, to be held on 9 and 10 June 2021. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The guide, a publication of the <strong>Medical Tourism Association (MTA)<\/strong>, is a tool that aims to show the international community the country&#8217;s main attributes. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4>About the Destination Guide<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ADTS president Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso said this edition &#8220;seeks to strengthen the Dominican Republic&#8217;s position as a safe destination, setting us apart from our competitors as a nation that has handled the pandemic in a timely way, with a fatality rate lower than most countries in the region, by applying internationally endorsed biosafety protocols and innovating with initiatives such as the safe tourism assistance plan&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For her part, Amelia Reyes Mora, vice-president of ADTS and president of AF Comunicaci\u00f3n Estrat\u00e9gica, a  Public Relations firm specialising in health communication, said that &#8220;this publication highlights the Dominican Republic as a reliable international medical tourism destination and offers  extensive information on the main players in the medical tourism value chain.  The initiative is also aligned with the presidential and national development goals of diversifying the country&#8217;s tourism portfolio&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The guide will be published in English and will have wide international distribution and visibility. It is an ideal tool for guiding international patients through the process of choosing a reliable healthcare provider. Readers will find details about health and wellness centres, hospitals, hotels, airports, financial institutions and investment opportunities in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>The Dominican Republic as a health destination<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Dominican Republic has a strategic geographical position, an ideal climate, political and social stability, health professionals trained at centres of excellence, and centres that are internationally accredited or in the process of accreditation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These comparative advantages position the Dominican Republic as the leading health tourism destination in the Caribbean and second in all of Latin America, according to the Medical Tourism Index. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The third edition of the country&#8217;s &#8220;Health and Wellness Tourism Guide&#8221; is a unique opportunity for institutions in the sector to promote their products and services. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\">Where can you find the guide?<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The guide will be available as an eBook on Apple Books and Amazon Kindle.
