{"id":12729,"date":"2021-04-29T11:40:39","date_gmt":"2021-04-29T15:40:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/uncategorized\/modern-diabetes-obesity-and-specialties-medical-centre-cemdoe-opens\/"},"modified":"2021-04-29T11:40:39","modified_gmt":"2021-04-29T15:40:39","slug":"modern-diabetes-obesity-and-specialties-medical-centre-cemdoe-opens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/en\/press-room\/modern-diabetes-obesity-and-specialties-medical-centre-cemdoe-opens\/","title":{"rendered":"Modern Diabetes, Obesity and Specialties Medical Centre (CEMDOE) opens"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>The Diabetes, Obesity and Specialties Medical Centre, built to the highest international standards, has highly qualified staff and state-of-the-art technology, focused on improving the quality of life of people affected by diabetes and other chronic diseases.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #00485b\"><b>Santo Domingo, 27 April 2021.- <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The President of the Republic, <span style=\"color: #84bd00\"><strong>Luis Abinader<\/strong><\/span>, led the opening and ribbon-cutting of the <a class=\"_ps2id\" href=\"https:\/\/cemdoe.com\/\" data-ps2id-offset=\"\">Diabetes, Obesity and Specialties Medical Centre (CEMDOE)<\/a>, which follows a comprehensive care model focused on the safety, quality and experience of patients and their families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong><span style=\"color: #00485b\">CEMDOE<\/span><\/strong>, located in San Ger\u00f3nimo, has been created as a fully digitalised centre working to protocols, both innovative aspects in the health sector, supported by international processes, standards and policies that position it as a world-class centre, strengthening the opportunity to export services through health tourism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"color: #84bd00\"><strong>Mariela Vicini<\/strong><\/span>, the centre&#8217;s founder, said in her opening remarks that her greatest motivation has been to contribute to the wellbeing and health of patients suffering serious diabetic foot complications caused by this devastating disease. &#8220;Just over 10 years ago I joined forces with Dr. <strong><span style=\"color: #84bd00\">Pedro Mena<\/span><\/strong> to create a social support plan through a foundation.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;This deeply human and meaningful experience made us aware of the great need for a space with a wider reach that could be self-sustaining, so we could impact more people. That is how the idea of founding a specialised health centre focused on patients and their families, oriented towards the prevention and treatment of diabetic patients, came about,&#8221; said <strong><span style=\"color: #84bd00\">Vicini<\/span><\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For his part, <span style=\"color: #00485b\"><strong>CEMDOE&#8217;s<\/strong><\/span> executive director, Dr. <strong><span style=\"color: #84bd00\">Gast\u00f3n Gabin<\/span><\/strong>, explained that &#8220;the centre&#8217;s management rests on excellence, medical protocols and patient-centred processes, as it will provide comprehensive, collaborative care to significantly improve patients&#8217; quality of life&#8221;. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He also highlighted: &#8220;We are proud to offer our specialties to the general public and to have built a centre following the demanding international standards of <span style=\"color: #00485b\"><em>Joint Commission International (JCI)<\/em><\/span>,&#8221; said <strong><span style=\"color: #84bd00\">Gabin<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;Our quality levels will help us collaborate and keep strengthening the export of services through health tourism, an important market niche that generates technology and knowledge transfer and promotes job creation,&#8221; added <strong><span style=\"color: #84bd00\">Gabin<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The centre has a built area of more than <strong><span style=\"color: #00485b\">20,000<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color: #00485b\"><strong>square metres<\/strong><\/span>, currently housing <strong><span style=\"color: #00485b\">42 consulting rooms<\/span><\/strong> with <strong><span style=\"color: #00485b\">24 specialties<\/span><\/strong>. It also has recreation areas and more than <strong><span style=\"color: #00485b\">250 parking spaces<\/span><\/strong>, and employs more than <strong><span style=\"color: #00485b\">400 professionals<\/span><\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Its medical specialties include the Diabetic Foot Unit and the Haemodialysis and Nephrology Unit.
