{"id":12749,"date":"2022-02-07T11:46:52","date_gmt":"2022-02-07T15:46:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/uncategorized\/habitat-dominicana-ended-2021-with-more-than-5764-housing-solutions\/"},"modified":"2022-02-07T11:46:52","modified_gmt":"2022-02-07T15:46:52","slug":"habitat-dominicana-ended-2021-with-more-than-5764-housing-solutions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/en\/press-room\/habitat-dominicana-ended-2021-with-more-than-5764-housing-solutions\/","title":{"rendered":"H\u00e1bitat Dominicana ended 2021 with more than 5,764 housing solutions"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>Since 1986, the organisation has helped more than 188,000 people build housing solutions.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"es-419\">Santo Domingo (February 2022)<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"es-419\"> \u2014 <\/span><span lang=\"es-419\">In a year still dominated by recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, with the need to revive the economy, rising construction material prices and supply chain disruptions, resilience was the hallmark of the <span style=\"color: #00aa47\">5,764 housing solutions and more than 28,820 people<\/span> served by <strong><span style=\"color: #00b2da\">Habitat for Humanity<\/span><\/strong>, as well as of the organisation&#8217;s volunteers, donors, partners and staff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"es-419\">Despite the challenges, the non-profit organisation focused on building a world where everyone has a decent place to live helped more Dominicans get new homes in 2021 and kept its programmes running to create value for families, with an emphasis on home repairs and improvements. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"es-419\">With this figure, the Dominican Republic is part of the <span style=\"color: #00aa47\">1.4 million people in Latin America and the Caribbean<\/span> who now have a safe and healthy place to rest, according to the <strong><em><span style=\"color: #00aa47\">Habitat for Humanity International Annual Report<\/span><\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"es-419\">&#8220;<i>While the pandemic has brought uncertainty to much of our lives, one thing that has not wavered is Habitat&#8217;s commitment to building a better world through safe, decent and affordable housing<\/i>,&#8221; says <span style=\"color: #b01331\">Jonathan T.M. Reckford<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #00b2da\"><strong>CEO of Habitat for Humanity International<\/strong><\/span>, who also said &#8220;<i>thank you to the donors and volunteers who put Habitat&#8217;s mission into practice every day<\/i>&#8220;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"es-419\">The report, published at <\/span><span style=\"color: #00b2da\"><a style=\"color: #00b2da\" href=\"http:\/\/www.habitatdominicana.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\"><span lang=\"es-419\">www.habitatdominicana.org<\/span><\/a><\/span> <span lang=\"es-419\">shows how, through determination and creativity, the organisation helped more than 4.2 million people build or improve the place they call home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"es-419\"><strong><span style=\"color: #00b2da\">Habitat&#8217;s<\/span><\/strong> impact was felt in more than 70 countries around the world: 1.1 million people in the Asia-Pacific region, almost 1.6 million people in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, more than 1.4 million people in Latin America and the Caribbean, and more than 30,000 people in the US and Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"es-419\">With this work,<span style=\"color: #b01331\"> more than 39 million people around the world now have a safe home<\/span> thanks to the efforts of <strong><span style=\"color: #00b2da\">Habitat<\/span><\/strong> since its founding in 1976.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"es-419\"><span style=\"color: #00b2da\">H\u00e1bitat Dominicana<\/span>, working shoulder to shoulder, rebuilt, improved and built new homes for Dominicans who lacked the financial resources to secure a decent, healthy home during the current pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"es-419\">&#8220;<i>We want to thank our partners: thanks to their support and the projects we developed together this year, more Dominicans now have a decent home. We also thank our corporate and individual donors who, despite the times, said yes to reaching out to those less fortunate, and every volunteer for their time and dedication, who willingly put God&#8217;s love into action by serving<\/i>,&#8221; added <span style=\"color: #b01331\">Cesarina Fabi\u00e1n<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #00b2da\"><strong>national director of H\u00e1bitat Dominicana<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"ES-DO\">Many more families around the world live in homes that are not safe.
