and quality of medical services, attract investors and boost the Dominican Republic&#8217;s competitiveness in global markets, the <strong><mark style=\"color:#00857c\" class=\"has-inline-color\">&#8220;2nd Health and Wellness Tourism Study and Diagnosis&#8221;<\/mark><\/strong> will be carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"color:#00857c\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, president of the Dominican Health Tourism Association (ADTS)<\/mark><\/strong>, said the study, an initiative of <strong><mark style=\"color:#00857c\" class=\"has-inline-color\">ADTS <\/mark><\/strong>and<strong> <mark style=\"color:#1d4684\" class=\"has-inline-color\">AF Comunicaci\u00f3n Estrat\u00e9gica<\/mark><\/strong>, will be conducted by the <mark style=\"color:#149442\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>consultancy Russa Garc\u00eda y Asociados<\/strong>.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">The renowned expert said that <strong><mark style=\"color:#00857c\" class=\"has-inline-color\">health<\/mark><\/strong> <strong><mark style=\"color:#00857c\" class=\"has-inline-color\">and wellness tourism<\/mark><\/strong> in the country has been growing stronger and more specialised, encouraging international accreditations and cutting-edge technologies that will make it possible to offer a distinctive, quality offering capable of competing in the global market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">He also highlighted that <strong>the first study, carried out in 2018, was a major step forward for the sector<\/strong> from a marketing and economic standpoint, as it generated investment and actions that strengthened this thriving market niche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">He added that the COVID-19 pandemic showed the tourism sector&#8217;s vulnerability to the impact of public health situations, underlining the urgent need for the <strong><mark style=\"color:#00857c\" class=\"has-inline-color\">health and tourism sectors<\/mark><\/strong> to work together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"color:#1d4684\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Amelia Reyes Mora, president of AF Comunicaci\u00f3n Estrat\u00e9gica<\/mark><\/strong>, said that, considering the post-pandemic effects, the main objective of this analysis is to update the findings of the first publication, which revealed the challenges, progress and great potential for the sustainable development of<mark style=\"color:#00857c\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> <strong>health and wellness tourism in the Dominican Republic<\/strong>.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"color:#1d4684\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Reyes Mora<\/mark><\/strong>, who is also <strong><mark style=\"color:#1d4684\" class=\"has-inline-color\">vice president of ADTS<\/mark><\/strong>, stressed that this 2nd edition will identify the most in-demand medical specialties and the most important source markets of international patients for the Dominican Republic, and will validate the different profiles of today&#8217;s health tourists in their various forms: health tourism, wellness tourism and tourist medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">The study process will include meetings, interviews and consultations with key players in the local and international<mark style=\"color:#00857c\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> <strong>Health Tourism sector<\/strong><\/mark> value chain, medical and dental centres serving international patients, specialist medical societies, accreditation bodies, international and travel insurers and other related institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">The research will also reveal the number of international patients the country receives, revenue from health tourism and tourist medicine, and key factors for defining new strategies and synergies to
