medical, grassroots, social and trade union organisations must be involved in the rollout (\u2026) this benefits companies directly and indirectly, because it solves health problems for employees&#8217; Dr. Eduardo Read, president of the Dominican Association of Primary Care Centres; and Edward Guzm\u00e1n, general manager of the <strong><mark style=\"color:#000967\" class=\"has-inline-color\">National Social Security Council (CNSS)<\/mark><\/strong>. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, head of the <strong><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">AMCHAMDR Health Committee Access and Coverage Commission<\/mark><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">The panellists discussed the importance of creating an inclusive Primary Care system in the country, focused not only on the sick or elderly but on all Dominicans, thereby advancing preventive medicine that makes it possible to identify in time risk factors or diseases that are usually not very noticeable until symptoms and effects appear, such as diabetes and hypertension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Eduardo Read, president of the <strong><mark style=\"color:#000967\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Dominican Association of Primary Care Centres<\/mark><\/strong>, said during the panel that to achieve the goal of establishing a fair system, &#8220;the patient and the Dominican people must be made the priority&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Rafael-White-Jonathan-Zapata-y-Antonio-Musa-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7978\" width=\"354\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Rafael-White-Jonathan-Zapata-y-Antonio-Musa-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Rafael-White-Jonathan-Zapata-y-Antonio-Musa-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Rafael-White-Jonathan-Zapata-y-Antonio-Musa-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Rafael-White-Jonathan-Zapata-y-Antonio-Musa-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Rafael-White-Jonathan-Zapata-y-Antonio-Musa.jpg 1800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 354px) 100vw, 354px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The main reason Primary Care has not started in the country is that the patient has not been placed at the centre. There are economic discussions about insurance, networks and a thousand other things, but unfortunately the importance of health and patient prevention as the central focus has not been leading the conversation. As a country, we must build consensus.
