{"id":12878,"date":"2023-05-17T15:09:33","date_gmt":"2023-05-17T19:09:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/uncategorized\/digitalising-the-health-sector-would-support-the-creation-of-effective-public-policies\/"},"modified":"2023-05-17T15:09:33","modified_gmt":"2023-05-17T19:09:33","slug":"digitalising-the-health-sector-would-support-the-creation-of-effective-public-policies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/en\/blog-en\/digitalising-the-health-sector-would-support-the-creation-of-effective-public-policies\/","title":{"rendered":"Digitalising the health sector would support the creation of effective public policies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>A digital health expert explains that the health sector&#8217;s problems need technology to drive comprehensive solutions.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Santo Domingo. &#8211;&nbsp;<\/strong>One of the major goals of digitalisation is to generate data to drive public policy, as it would make it possible to identify health problems in the population more accurately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"color:#17885e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Fedor Vidal<\/mark><\/strong>, who served as head of IT for the international division of <strong><mark style=\"color:#006499\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Johns Hopkins Medicine International<\/mark><\/strong>, <mark style=\"color:#006499\" class=\"has-inline-color\">explains that technology together with e-health can directly help solve the problems and challenges facing the country<\/mark>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Referring to the current situation with medical records, for example, he noted that most are still kept manually,&nbsp;showing that the use of information technology is necessary if we want to face the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">The health business and technology specialist cited the need for structured information, such as that generated by an electronic record, to determine communities&#8217; needs. <mark style=\"color:#006499\" class=\"has-inline-color\">&#8220;It is impossible to measure a country&#8217;s population when it is on paper, because accurate quantitative analysis cannot be carried out,&#8221;<\/mark> stressed the <strong><mark style=\"color:#17885e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">CEO of Arium Salud Digital<\/mark><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">He added that the country has a health model and social security system with identified challenges, so it must now make the leap from a curative model to a preventive one, in which technology and primary care play a fundamental role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"color:#006499\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Digitalisation<\/mark><\/strong>,<mark style=\"color:#006499\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> which means cost savings for both patients and the health system, would avoid the unnecessary repetition of tests or lab work<\/mark>.
