{"id":12904,"date":"2023-08-10T10:13:32","date_gmt":"2023-08-10T14:13:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/uncategorized\/senate-honours-the-career-of-surgeon-rafael-sanchez-espanol\/"},"modified":"2023-08-10T10:13:32","modified_gmt":"2023-08-10T14:13:32","slug":"senate-honours-the-career-of-surgeon-rafael-sanchez-espanol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/en\/press-room\/senate-honours-the-career-of-surgeon-rafael-sanchez-espanol\/","title":{"rendered":"Senate honours the career of surgeon Rafael S\u00e1nchez Espa\u00f1ol"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>The honour was awarded after the full Senate unanimously approved a resolution submitted by the president of the upper house, Eduardo Estrella.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Reconocimiento-al-Dr.-Rafael-Sanchez-Espanol-1024x646.jpeg\" alt=\"Tribute to Dr. Rafael S\u00e1nchez Espa\u00f1ol\" class=\"wp-image-8292\" width=\"470\" height=\"295\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Tribute to Dr. Rafael S\u00e1nchez Espa\u00f1ol<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Santo Domingo, August 2023.-<\/strong> <strong><mark style=\"color:#09810f\" class=\"has-inline-color\">The Senate of the Republic honoured Dr. Rafael S\u00e1nchez Espa\u00f1ol<\/mark><\/strong> for his long professional career and his contributions as a doctor and pioneer of laparoscopic and robotic surgery for the benefit of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"><strong>The award was presented to the distinguished doctor at a special ceremony led by the President of the Senate, Eduardo Estrella, and the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Pe\u00f1a.<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Eduardo Estrella, who proposed the initiative, highlighted the contributions of <strong><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Dr. Rafael S\u00e1nchez Espa\u00f1ol<\/mark><\/strong> to the development of medicine in the Dominican Republic, demonstrating ability, innovation and management skills and treating his profession as a vocation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Dr. S\u00e1nchez Espa\u00f1ol&#8217;s broad judgement and vision on health are invaluable attributes that have led him to break moulds and paradigms in Dominican medicine,&#8221; said Eduardo Estrella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"color:#09810f\" class=\"has-inline-color\">At the event, held in the Senate&#8217;s new, modern auditorium, Estrella said Rafael S\u00e1nchez Espa\u00f1ol has left an indelible mark on both the scientific and academic communities.<\/mark><\/strong> &#8220;His strong commitment to research and the dissemination of knowledge has been an inspiring example for many, making him a role model for new generations of doctors,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Rafael S\u00e1nchez Espa\u00f1ol was born on 14 April 1951 in the municipality of Tenares, Hermanas Mirabal province.
