Global investment in AI in this sector alone is estimated to approach US$36 billion by 2025, a 50% increase on 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Combined with telemedicine, <strong><mark style=\"color:#176c87\" class=\"has-inline-color\">AI<\/mark><\/strong> can play an important role in improving and expanding people&#8217;s access to the health system, since one of the main problems worldwide is lack of access to healthcare, says <strong><mark style=\"color:#17885e\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Fedor Vidal, CEO of Arium Salud Digital.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Likewise, <strong><mark style=\"color:#176c87\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Vidal explains that the use of AI,<\/mark><\/strong> as well as automating tasks, helps with patient planning, diagnosis and prognosis, making healthcare more efficient, as it not only reduces costs but also allows results to be analysed remotely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">This helps distribute healthcare services better. <strong><mark style=\"color:#176c87\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Telemedicine<\/mark><\/strong> also <mark style=\"color:#176c87\" class=\"has-inline-color\">lets patients contact healthcare providers virtually and offers an alternative to in-person visits.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">For the technologist, using<strong><mark style=\"color:#176c87\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> AI<\/mark><\/strong> capabilities in a telemedicine setting helps reduce the burden on clinical staff, which has a major impact in allowing greater dedication to patient care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">From his experience, he notes that in the Dominican Republic one of the critical factors for success in <strong><mark style=\"color:#176c87\" class=\"has-inline-color\">digitalising healthcare using AI and telemedicine<\/mark><\/strong> is having adequate infrastructure, for which initial investments are essential and should preferably be made together with specialist partners who can guarantee compatibility across all systems.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"757\" src=\"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Fedor-Vidal-especialista-en-salud-digital-1024x757.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8582\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.3527080581241744;width:342px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Fedor-Vidal-especialista-en-salud-digital-1024x757.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Fedor-Vidal-especialista-en-salud-digital-300x222.jpg 300w, https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Fedor-Vidal-especialista-en-salud-digital-768x568.jpg 768w, https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Fedor-Vidal-especialista-en-salud-digital-1536x1136.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Fedor-Vidal-especialista-en-salud-digital-2048x1514.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It is impossible to talk about artificial intelligence without clear, robust foundations that allow the country to adopt this transformational technology.
