First place went to the Instituto Federal de Educa\u00e7\u00e3o, Ci\u00eancia e Tecnologia da Paraiba of Brazil, in the Innovation Competition category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Second place was awarded to participants from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana of Colombia, Computing Track; Universidad de las Am\u00e9ricas of Ecuador, Cloud Track; and Instituto Profesional INACAP of Chile, Network Track. Also to the Universidad del Cauca of Colombia, Network Track; the Escuela Polit\u00e9cnica Nacional of Ecuador, Network Track; and the <strong>I<\/strong>nstituto Federal da Paraiba of Brazil, Network Track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Third prize went to the Universidad Nacional de Ingenier\u00eda of Peru, Cloud Track; the Instituto Federal da Paraiba of Brazil, Cloud Track<strong>; and the Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) of the Dominican Republic<\/strong>, Cloud Track. More than 160 teams, made up of over 470 contestants from 49 countries, reached the global final in Shenzhen, having previously succeeded in their respective national and regional competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brain Ariel Gonz\u00e1lez, of the Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), said: &#8220;This is a great opportunity to gain practical experience, and the goal is to inspire more people to take part.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Initiatives like this are important for our professional development, because they bring us face to face with real-life challenges, and that pushes our knowledge and skills to the next level. We learn and internalise not only ICT skills but also soft skills,&#8221; said Marlon Guete, a participant in the innovation category from the Universidad del Norte of Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Today is a historic day for me. I lead an institution with excellent results in this global competition: first place in the Innovation track, second place in the Network track and third place in the Cloud track; I couldn&#8217;t be prouder. Through the ICT Competition, our goal is to offer students a global platform to compete and exchange ideas.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the same day, Huawei also held the ICT Education Transformation Acceleration Summit. At the summit, Huawei awarded the title of Huawei ICT Academy Global Most Valuable Instructor to 24 instructors for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This award aims to show gratitude for the important contributions these instructors have made to talent development, and to hold them up as role models who show how the brightest minds can develop even brighter ones. These role models will help drive the sustainable development of the ICT talent ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Huawei ICT Competition is an annual contest organised by Huawei for university students around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since its launch in 2015, it has helped students improve their ICT knowledge and practical skills while increasing their ability to innovate using new technologies and platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ultimate goal is to advance technological development and facilitate digital inclusion around the world. As one of the key projects of Huawei&#8217;s Seeds for the Future 2.0, the Huawei ICT Competition aims to provide a platform for university students worldwide to compete and communicate with each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2021, Huawei launched the Latin America and Caribbean ICT Academy programme in Brazil. To date, Huawei has created more than 450 top-tier ICT centres and faculties in 18 countries in the region to teach students cutting-edge ICT knowledge in networks, cloud, IT, 5G and artificial intelligence. Through this project, Huawei has trained more than 80,000 ICT professionals for Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>About the ICT Academy<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In 2013, Huawei launched its ICT Academy programme, a cooperation project between Huawei as a company and universities, to help boost the talent ecosystem.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Through the ICT Academy programme, Huawei helps universities improve their ability to provide digital technology training so they can certify students as ICT professionals. In this way, it helps provide the talent needed for the development of the digital industry. Most students pass the certification exams after completing the related courses.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Huawei has partnered with more than 2,700 universities and colleges in over 110 countries and regions to train more than one million students through the Huawei ICT Academy.
