It also significantly reduces morbidity and mortality.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The specialist notes that this surgical technique had not been performed in the country because of its complexity. However, this step <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">shows the level of training of local surgeons<\/mark> to carry out these procedures, demonstrating enormous maturity and placing Dominican vascular medicine on a par with developed countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Leaving a mark&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">HOMS<\/mark> also performed its first transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), led by cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Miguel Carrasco.
