{"id":13021,"date":"2024-08-15T13:54:17","date_gmt":"2024-08-15T17:54:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/uncategorized\/global-medica-announces-its-global-day-2024\/"},"modified":"2024-08-15T13:54:17","modified_gmt":"2024-08-15T17:54:17","slug":"global-medica-announces-its-global-day-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/en\/press-room\/global-medica-announces-its-global-day-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Medica announces its Global Day 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>&#8220;Connecting Leaders, Improving Lives&#8221;, a meeting of major decision-makers in the health sector.<\/em><\/li>\n\n<li><em>The first Global Day 2024 will be held on 10 September at the Hotel Real Intercontinental in Santo Domingo.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Santo Domingo. <\/strong>Global Medica, a company specialising in high-tech medical equipment for diagnosing a wide range of conditions and currently the authorised distributor of GE HealthCare in the Caribbean and South America, announces the first Global Day 2024, an event that will bring together the health sector&#8217;s leading strategic decision-makers to discuss key topics such as funding sources, the future of health registration in the Dominican Republic, international accreditation for private health centres and Artificial Intelligence (AI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event, to be held on Tuesday 10 September at the Hotel Real Intercontinental in Santo Domingo, will bring together health leaders, owners and managers of medical institutions and authoritative, influential voices of public opinion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Global Medica&#8217;s commercial director, Joseph Winzey, highlighted that this first Global Day is an initiative that seeks to address strategic topics focused on strengthening the business model of each decision-maker attending: &#8220;Our primary goal is to provide our market with a window of tools for the future, not only with equipment but with knowledge and contacts, so that we become the committed ally that gives our clients the &#8216;Support, Technology and Life&#8217; we have represented for more than 38 years as a corporate group.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Global Day will have a dynamic agenda, starting with a panel on the different local and international sources of funding for large-scale medical equipment projects, with local and international speakers including:&nbsp; Felipe Amador, CEO of Advanced Capital Group; Hugo Villanueva, Vice President of Business at LAFISE; and V\u00edctor Mella, Senior Leasing Manager at LAFISE. They will be joined by Mar\u00eda Teresa Ferreira, Vice President of Business at Bandex; Alonso G\u00f3mez, Executive Business Manager at the World Bank&#8217;s International Finance Corporation (IFC); and Cecilia Guzzo, Regional Manager at GE HealthCare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There will also be a panel on the &#8220;Draft Law on <strong>Health Registration for Clinics and Hospitals in the Dominican Republic&#8221;<\/strong>, led by the Vice Minister of the General Directorate of Medicines, Food and Health Products (DIGEMAPS), engineer Leandro Villanueva, and Lorraine Luciano, CEO of Abarco Pharma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Dr. H\u00e9ctor Mej\u00eda, President of Hospital Design &amp; Quality (HDQ), will speak on <strong>&#8220;International Accreditation Models for Health Centres in the Dominican Republic<\/strong>&#8220;, together with Dilenny Camacho, a specialist in Quality Management Systems, Accreditation and Certification. This session will review the different international accreditation agencies worldwide, their impact and the return on investment for health institutions in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, a keynote lecture will be given by Dr. Oswaldo Ramos, past president of the CIR \u2013 Inter-American College of Radiology, on <strong>&#8220;Artificial Intelligence: transforming the Health Sector in the 21st century, from obesity and cardiovascular disease to oncology and dementia&#8221;<\/strong>, with Dr. Engels Liranzo, radiologist and current President of the Dominican Society of Radiology (SODORAD), as moderator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About Global Medica<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company specialises in providing high-tech medical equipment for diagnosing a wide range of conditions, as well as equipment for cancer treatment.
