Santo Domingo:<\/strong> – The third edition of the Latin American Digital Health Congress<\/mark>, an event that has established itself as one of the most important in the region and leads digital transformation in the health sector, was formally opened with a cocktail reception hosted by its organisers, Fedor Vidal, <\/mark>CEO of Arium Salud Digital<\/mark>, and <\/mark>Amelia Reyes Mora, President of AF Comunicaci\u00f3n Estrat\u00e9gica.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The welcome address was given by Reyes Mora, who said that for AF Comunicaci\u00f3n Estrat\u00e9gica<\/mark>, a communications and public relations firm, it is a great pleasure to work with Arium Salud Digital<\/mark> to keep promoting a change of mindset that drives digital transformation in the health sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that, taking on the responsibility we all share to help build a stronger, more united nation, AF feels deeply committed to strengthening the quality of health services and patient safety, for the benefit of all Dominicans.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The communications expert said she is convinced that this goal requires well-aligned, coordinated teamwork involving all the public and private organisations that contribute to the system’s success.  “For our part, through communication, we continue our work of spreading the word about Digital Health, because communication is powerful: it connects and it unites.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next to address the audience was Fedor Vidal, CEO of Arium Salud Digital<\/mark>, a company that designs digital services and tools to transform how existing processes are managed in the health sector. He said the 3rd Latin American Digital Health Congress<\/mark> is a testament to the evolution of healthcare in the region and to the power of technology to bridge gaps, transform care and improve the lives of all its citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stressed that technology is the common thread that allows us to align diverse and sometimes conflicting objectives. It provides the tools to tackle inefficiencies, streamline processes and bring about transformative change. “But this transformation can only happen if we accept our shared responsibility to make healthcare more accessible, affordable and safe for the more than 600 million people in our region.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that digital transformation is no longer an option in healthcare but a necessity. Now that we stand on the threshold of a new era, technology gives us an unprecedented ability to redefine how we deliver care, diagnose diseases and support patients throughout their healthcare journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To close, the digital health specialist said: “As we embrace this digital revolution, we must seize the opportunity to lead the future of healthcare, transforming it into a system that is more efficient and innovative and that prepares us for the future.”<\/p>\n\n\n

The meeting, which is more than a platform for sharing ideas and showcasing technological advances in the sector, was held at the JW Marriott hotel and was attended by the Minister of Public Health<\/mark>, Dr. V\u00edctor Atallah<\/mark>. In addition, 30 speakers will discuss the future of digital health and the relationships and synergies between providers and insurers in a digital world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will also be seven panels made up of representatives of different institutions in the sector, as well as four keynote lectures: “What is the future of digital health?<\/mark>“, with Rogelio Uma\u00f1a<\/mark>, director of the Digital Thinking unit in Costa Rica; “The challenge of data interoperability and open platforms<\/mark>“, with Jos\u00e9 David Montilla, Vice Minister <\/mark>of the Digital Agenda at the Ministry of the Presidency (Minpre);<\/mark> and “Artificial intelligence applications to improve patient care”, by Dr. Alejandro Mauro, Chief Medical Officer for Digital Transformation at Cl\u00ednica Alemana in Santiago de Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
