{"id":13185,"date":"2026-07-23T12:26:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T16:26:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/uncategorized\/didi-supports-the-mobility-ecosystem-of-dominicans\/"},"modified":"2026-07-23T12:26:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T16:26:11","slug":"didi-supports-the-mobility-ecosystem-of-dominicans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/en\/press-room\/didi-supports-the-mobility-ecosystem-of-dominicans\/","title":{"rendered":"DiDi supports the mobility ecosystem of Dominicans"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>DiDi supports the mobility ecosystem of Dominicans and expects higher demand towards shopping and dining areas over Father&#8217;s Day.<\/em><\/li>\n\n<li><em>App data shows that, over the Father&#8217;s Day weekend in 2025, ride requests rose towards shopping centres, transport stations and entertainment areas in Santo Domingo and Santiago.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Santo Domingo, July 2026.<\/strong> Father&#8217;s Day is among the busiest dates for mobility in the Dominican Republic, driven by family gatherings and outings to restaurants and entertainment venues.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to DiDi data, during last year&#8217;s celebration some of the main shopping, dining and entertainment areas of Santo Domingo and Santiago saw demand rise by up to 60% in ride requests compared with the previous weekend. Given that pattern, DiDi is getting ready to accompany Dominicans with a range of technological solutions with an impact on mobility, and with savings options available in the app during one of the busiest days of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Behind many ride requests on Father&#8217;s Day there is a family gathering, a visit to dad or a chance to spend time with the people we love most. That is why our aim at DiDi is to accompany those moments by making available technological solutions that help connect users, even at times of high demand, with savings options and safety features available in the app, so that more Dominicans can celebrate this date and get where they are going to enjoy it with their loved ones,&#8221; said Douglas Quesada, Senior Communications Manager for DiDi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the 2025 celebration in Santo Domingo, some of the biggest increases in ride requests were towards BlueMall Santo Domingo (29%), \u00c1gora Mall (24%), Galer\u00eda 360 (22%), the Caribe Tours bus station (37%), the Centro de los H\u00e9roes (28%) and metro stations such as Concepci\u00f3n Bona (47%) and Mar\u00eda Montez (23%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Santiago, demand for rides through the app was even more marked in shopping areas and places with heavy footfall, such as the surroundings of Parque Los Chachases (60%), Expreso Liniero (31%), El Encanto (36%), La Rotonda (33%), Calle 30 de Marzo (25%), Bella Terra Mall (21%) and Plaza Barcelona (35%).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To support the high demand for rides over this celebration, DiDi is making its different technological intermediation solutions available to passenger users, such as <strong>DiDi Express, DiDi Pon Tu Precio and DiDi Moto<\/strong>, offering technological options that adapt to different travel needs over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some passenger users will also be able to access discounts available directly in the app on Father&#8217;s Day, especially for rides with a destination in shopping centres in Santo Domingo and Santiago. The app will additionally offer benefits for rides to or from participating stations of the Santo Domingo metro, in order to make connecting with public transport easier during the celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, and as part of its commitment to safety, DiDi points out <strong>that 99.99% of the ride requests intermediated through the app end with no reported safety incidents.<\/strong> Every request also comes with safety features that can be activated from the start of the journey, among them sharing the ride in real time with family or friends, protecting personal information through anonymous phone numbers, and the audio recording feature during the ride. DiDi also has a PIN Code, a verification feature that adds an extra layer of safety when getting into the vehicle. Through this feature, the passenger user receives a unique, random code that must be shared with the driver user before starting the ride, which makes it possible to verify that both parties match the request registered in the app.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>About DiDi<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DiDi is an app of technological solutions with an impact on mobility, available in Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Africa and other global markets. In the Dominican Republic, the app currently offers the technological intermediation service for ride requests, in the Express, Pon Tu Precio and Moto options, allowing driver users to get in contact with one another, and directly with passenger users, to whom they will state their vehicle rental needs so that the latter may grant them the use and enjoyment of a vehicle on the terms they agree.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Santo Domingo, July 2026.
