At FITUR 2026, M\u00e9dico Express and the Santo Domingo Hotel Association (AHSD) signed an Inter-institutional Cooperation Agreement that brings hospitality and health together to strengthen tourist safety, improve the guest experience and position Santo Domingo as a health and wellness tourism destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement was signed by Dr Alejandro Cambiaso, executive president of M\u00e9dico Express, and Yudit Garc\u00eda, president of the AHSD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Cambiaso said the partnership brings tangible value to the hotel industry, improves guest safety, strengthens staff response to emergencies and raises the visitor experience with access to health care of international quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yudit Garc\u00eda, for her part, said the commitment strengthens the competitiveness of the capital&#8217;s hotels by bringing together prevention, training and a coordinated model of care that adds trust and differentiation to Santo Domingo as a destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the signing onwards, AHSD member hotels have a direct referral channel to M\u00e9dico Express for emergencies, consultations, diagnostic imaging, clinical laboratory, gastroenterology, dentistry, ophthalmology and outpatient surgery, under rapid response protocols, with bilingual care and institutional coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement also establishes an exclusive coordination line for referrals, immediate guidance and logistical support, with the aim of ensuring optimal response times and a clear route for each case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Telemedicine, international department and continuity of care<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the collaboration, M\u00e9dico Express is adding telemedicine and remote follow-up to support initial assessments, clinical guidance and continuity of care where applicable. That offer is complemented by its international department, designed to coordinate care for visitors and international patients with an organised, bilingual and person-centred experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the central pillars of the agreement is training hotel staff in CPR, first aid and emergency management, strengthening the capacity to respond to critical events within hotels and raising the standards of safety and prevention demanded by the international tourism market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement includes executive check-up and prevention programmes for managers and staff of affiliated hotels, at preferential rates. It also provides for reciprocal benefits to drive integrated health and accommodation experiences, corporate wellbeing and preventive campaigns geared to healthy lifestyles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A partner with global standards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">M\u00e9dico Express backs this partnership with credentials that are unique in the region.
