We recognize those hours of reporting and writing quality content that, after being published, can impact many lives positively, \u201dsaid the president of Bayer Central America and the Caribbean, Erika Bernal.<\/p>\n<p>Bernal also stressed that the contest is strengthened in each edition and over the years the publication of notes related to science, environment, sustainability, and innovation to ensure a better life.<\/p>\n<p>In this <a href=\"https:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/en\/bayer-journalism-award-for-innovation-for-sustainable-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">second edition in the Dominican Republic<\/a>, the contest had a great response from the press and media workers, with the nomination of 30 works of all formats: television, written press, and digital press, published during the last year.<\/p>\n<p>The winners of the Bayer Prize were journalists: Saiury Calca\u00f1o, from List\u00edn Diario; Windler Soto, from the newspaper El Dinero, Mar\u00eda Mercedes, from Diario Libre in the categories: Daily Notes, Research Reports and Web Notes, respectively, in addition to a special mention for the journalist Andrea Ramos, from Noticias SIN for her series of reports \u201c Firefighters&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>All participating journalists received a distinction with the delivery of certificates of participation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-300\" src=\"http:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_8584.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"711\" height=\"368\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Winners Selection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The selection of winners had the support and support of the Dominican College of Journalists (CDP), in the person of its president, Olivo de Le\u00f3n; on behalf of the Academy of Sciences of the Dominican Republic, Lu\u00eds Carvajal and Elvira Lora, president of the Dominican Association of Communication Schools (ADECOM).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-301\" src=\"http:\/\/afcomunicacion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_8790.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"711\" height=\"439\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>International Guest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s ceremony was invited by Glenda Uma\u00f1a, one of the most recognized and valued Latin American journalists who stand out for her charismatic, honest, objective and respectful style, which has earned her the sympathy and preference of the global public.<\/p>\n<p>With 26 years on the screen, a life dedicated to television journalism with passion, 18 of them on the CNN EN ESPA\u00d1OL network -addressed to an audience of 50 million people-, they consecrated her as the female leader of international communication and favorite journalist of Spanish-speaking communities in the United States and Latin America.<\/p>\n<p>During his career, he has participated in the most emblematic coverage of world relevance, such as the terrorist attacks of 2011, the death of the Pontiff Juan Pablo Segundo, the earthquake in Haiti, the presidential elections across the continent and the royal wedding in London, among countless and varied events of news repercussion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, it is an honor and a privilege to share and learn from dear Dominican colleagues. The digital age has changed the way we get and report the news. Together we will take a look at some tools.
