Forbes Powerful Women Forum: the protagonists of change

- Forbes Central America and Dominican Republic held the “Powerful Women” forum to highlight the role of women as protagonists of change in business, society and politics.
The role women play in the development, progress and innovation of every nation’s business, social and political spheres is increasingly clear. Forbes Central America and Dominican Republic magazine, a benchmark for valuable information in the region, will present the Forbes Powerful Women Forum, which will explore this topic in depth virtually.
Major changes lie ahead, and the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated them. Digitalisation, automation, business reconfiguration, security, health, climate change and the transition towards fairer societies are just some of the major issues growing in importance on the global agenda. In the new global order taking shape, it is necessary for women to take a leading role, not only because of the historical lag this group faces in equity and inclusion, but because they represent the possibility of generating different and innovative responses to the major problems ahead.
“In the face of the pandemic, women are the first line of defence in protecting the family and in countries’ health defences, and the countries with the best results in managing the pandemic have in common that they are led by women,” says Nuria Marín, Forbes columnist. “That is why 2020 will be a turning point towards a new and broader role for women in the exercise of power.”
The Forbes Women Forum will take place from 20 to 23 October 2020, with daily programmes starting at 9:00am Central American time, 10:00am in Panama, Colombia and Mexico, and 11:00am in the Dominican Republic.
