HOMS and Humano Seguros sign agreement to cover robotic uterine and prostate surgery

• The agreement between HOMS and Humano Seguros broadens access to robotic surgery in the Dominican Republic, a technique that has been used at this cutting-edge healthcare centre for more than a decade.

Santiago, May 2024.- With the aim of providing access to advanced medical procedures safely and with quality, with shorter hospital stays and less pain and trauma, Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago (HOMS) and Humano Seguros signed a collaboration agreement for coverage of robotic hysterectomy and prostatectomy, benefiting policyholders and the health system.

Speaking about the signing, the representatives of the two organisations, Dr. Héctor Sánchez Navarro, deputy general director of Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago (HOMS), and Mary Bairan Báez, vice president of Health at Humano Seguros, referred to the significant results achieved thanks to the benefits of this surgical technique. HOMS is the centre where the first robotic gynaecological and urological surgeries in the Dominican Republic were successfully performed, and with this agreement they are now within reach of Humano Seguros policyholders.
