Huawei invites Dominican students to take part in the Seeds for the Future 2024 programme

Santo Domingo, June 2024. Huawei announces the opening of registration for the 2024 edition of its flagship corporate social responsibility programme, “Seeds for the Future”, for the Latin American region. Every year, this programme gives university students from across the region the opportunity to train in the most advanced technologies.
Huawei’s “Seeds for the Future” programme has run successfully in Latin America and the Caribbean for 10 years and offers university students a comprehensive experience, combining advanced courses in key technologies such as 5G, 5.5G, cloud computing, renewable energy and artificial intelligence. It also offers the chance to interact with experts from Huawei and other sectors, sharing perspectives on topics ranging from cybersecurity to the aerospace industry.
In a dynamic educational environment, eight Dominican students will have the opportunity to take part in group discussions, debates and round tables, encouraging cross-cultural exchange with participants from other countries. They also take part in the “Tech4Good” group project, strengthening social entrepreneurship and developing leadership and problem-solving skills.
“Our flagship programme, Seeds for the Future 2024, reflects our commitment to innovation and developing technology talent. We provide a complete experience that includes advanced courses in key technologies and opportunities to interact with industry experts, training future ICT leaders. Through initiatives such as ‘Tech4Good’, we encourage social entrepreneurship and cultivate essential leadership and problem-solving skills among our participants,” said Carolina Herrera, Director of Communications at Huawei Central America and the Caribbean.
Registration is open until 15 July 2024 at the following link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScn6narJ5O5TM5JyNuW8p0mFe1hulHnI3Ow1A4hJ–jTuaNNQ/viewform for university students in their final year or recent graduates, preferably interested in or studying information technology and telecommunications, with a minimum grade average of 8.5. Applicants must also have a valid passport, be willing to take part in the Tech4Good group project and the regional competition in August, and have an advanced level of English.
To apply, candidates must submit a CV, a cover letter in English of no more than 500 words and a presentation video entitled “My video for Seeds for the Future 2024”, lasting no more than 5 minutes, showing their interest in contributing to the country’s digital development and their enthusiasm for learning about new technologies and ICT market trends.
