- PEDRO: THE STORY OF MY LIFE traces his journey from a difficult childhood to his glory years with several Major League teams.
Santo Domingo, 12 December 2019.-Former Major League Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martínez presented the Spanish edition of his book PEDRO, his autobiography. The event was hosted by 45 Enterprises, the company that represents the former player in the Dominican Republic and abroad.

The event opened with remarks from broadcaster Roberto Cavada, who introduced the company sponsoring the launch.
Carolina Cruz de Martínez, vice president of 45 Enterprises, reviewed the various initiatives and work Pedro Martínez has carried out in the United States since retiring.
“In his professional transition as talent in the entertainment and media industry, Pedro represents several brands in the United States that go beyond the world of baseball,” said Cruz.
She went on to say: “It is a great satisfaction to present our new project on Dominican soil, the autobiography PEDRO, THE STORY OF MY LIFE. The book was published in English in 2014, in collaboration with American journalist Michael Silverman, and climbed the renowned New York Times Best Seller list.”

Pedro Martínez, the Red Sox legend, held a conversation with journalist Roberto Cavada in front of the audience, in which he recalled the hard times in the early stages of his career and inspired the audience with anecdotes from his professional life.

“In this book I showed a little more of the man behind the uniform to get closer to my people. Many judge you as an athlete, but they don’t know you as a human being,” said the three-time Cy Young Award winner.
The event, held at the JW Marriott, was attended by the media as well as figures from the Dominican Republic’s sporting, political, artistic and social spheres.

At the end of the event, the World Series champion and eight-time All-Star shared time with guests and signed the books purchased at the event.
Proceeds from sales of the former pitcher’s books and merchandise go to the tireless work of the Pedro Martínez Foundation with hundreds of children and teenagers at the community centre he chairs.
The book PEDRO will be on sale at www.pedromartinez.com This new website is a place where fans can buy items and keep up to date with Pedro’s latest initiatives.
