- Banco Promerica makes Apple Pay available to its customers so they can pay easily, quickly and securely with iPhone and Apple Watch, without needing their physical card.
Santo Domingo, August 2024 — Banco Promerica is making Apple Pay available to its customers, a more secure way to pay that allows transactions without using a physical card or cash, and uses the full power of iPhone to protect every transaction.
With this new service, Banco Promerica customers can make purchases simply by holding their iPhone or Apple Watch near any terminal that accepts contactless payments. It stands out for its security, as every transaction is authenticated with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode. Apple Pay can be used in grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, cafés and retail shops, among many other places.
Customers can also use Apple Pay on their iPhone, iPad and Mac to make purchases quickly and easily in apps or on the web through the Safari browser, without having to create accounts or enter their payment details and shipping addresses. This includes paying in apps with Apple Watch.
To start paying with Apple Pay, Banco Promerica customers just need to open the “Wallet” app, tap the + sign and follow the steps to add their Promerica Credit or Debit Cards.
Customers with access to Digital Banking can also add their cards directly from the “Promerica Móvil RD” app, under the “Digital Wallet” option, quickly and simply.
Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. When customers use their Promerica Credit or Debit Cards with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device or on Apple’s servers; instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and stored securely.
