Dr Gerdica de los Santos gives advanced aesthetic medicine workshops in the country

• Dr Gerdica de los Santos visited the Dominican Republic to give advanced aesthetic medicine workshops alongside the FILLMED laboratory.

Santo Domingo, D.R. – Dr Gerdica de los Santos continues to leave a deep mark on the world of aesthetic medicine. This Dominican doctor, internationally recognised for her human and technical approach, visited her home country to deliver a series of training activities alongside the prestigious FILLMED laboratory.

As part of her agenda in the Dominican Republic, Dr De los Santos gave a talk at the Hotel Homewood Suites, where she shared her life story and professional development, from her roots in the Dominican Republic to becoming an international trainer in aesthetic medicine.  

During the event, she highlighted how FILLMED’s Rising Stars programme was key to her growth, allowing her to take on global leadership and to train practitioners in countries such as Mexico, Argentina and Saudi Arabia.

In her address, she encouraged those present not to fear challenges, recalling how a personal crisis related to her skin was the starting point for discovering her true vocation: helping others feel good about themselves, from the inside out. “I see a lot of emotional need in consultations. Many people arrive with deep wounds they are trying to heal through their appearance,” she said. 

The day continued with two specialist workshops held in the laboratories of the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU). The sessions, focused on good practice, covered the use of NCTF, the Art Filler hyaluronic acids and the application of new protocols developed by the doctor, such as the innovative and well-known GerdyLips, an advanced technique for lip enhancement.

The workshops, which combined theory and practice, drew an excellent turnout, with specialist doctors taking part from across the country, including the National District, the North and the East. Attendees valued the chance to train with a professional of international standing and to apply what they learned directly in a supervised clinical setting. 

Beyond her academic and business achievements, such as her successful clinic in Spain, Gerdica de los Santos continues to convey a message of gratitude and purpose: “Sometimes we look to have more, but we do not enjoy what we already have. I want to be thankful for what I have achieved,” she says. Her advice for those who dream big is clear: “Go for it. It is better to say ‘I tried and failed’ than to live with ‘what would have happened if…'” 

This training visit reinforces her commitment to continuing medical education and is also a source of inspiration for a new generation of professionals, called on to build the future of aesthetic medicine in the Dominican Republic with excellence, ethics and passion.
