- Huawei took part in Intecnología 2024, INTEC’s technology fair, with a talk on how to manage cloud costs efficiently and sustainably.
Santo Domingo. The world leader in information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure, Huawei, in its aim of continuing to contribute to the development of the Dominican Republic, took part in the twelfth edition of the technology fair of the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC).
This year, with “Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability” as its central theme, the “Intecnología 2024” fair featured the keynote talk by engineer Rafael Vargas, an expert in Huawei Cloud services, who gave the talk FinOps and Sustainability; Managing Cloud Costs.
The talk explored how companies can implement FinOps practices to optimise the costs associated with the cloud, promoting effective collaboration between finance and technology teams.
It analysed the current challenges in managing cloud costs, as well as the importance of maintaining continuous financial visibility and planning to avoid unnecessary spending.
Vargas also addressed the connection between FinOps and sustainability, highlighting how adopting responsible practices in cloud management not only makes it possible to cut costs, but also to reduce environmental impact, contributing to a greener, more efficient approach to business.
The fair’s exhibition stands were opened by vice-president Raquel Peña, during a ceremony held on the morning of 7 November 2024, attended by INTEC’s authorities.
