Médico Express and the Los Angeles Dodgers sign a partnership to strengthen the overall health of Dominican sporting talent

With a firm commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, preventing disease and supporting the physical and emotional development of young baseball prospects, Médico Express San Isidro and the National Amateur Baseball Academy of the Dominican Republic (ANBARD) signed an institutional collaboration agreement to provide high-quality medical services and specialised care to athletes in training.
Under this agreement, the academy’s players, coaches and staff will have preferential access to a broad portfolio of medical services offered by Médico Express, a leading outpatient centre in Santo Domingo Este recognised for its focus on preventive medicine, its person-centred model of care and its use of state-of-the-art technology.
Comprehensive care for high performance
The agreement provides for specialised clinical support focused on the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of conditions associated with high-level sports training.
The medical services available to beneficiaries include sports medicine and specialised orthopaedics, advanced musculoskeletal radiology, cardiology, neurology, pulmonology, ophthalmology, surgery, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, comprehensive dentistry, dermatology, psychology, family medicine and emergency care, among others.
“Sport and health must move forward together. This partnership allows us to offer athletes comprehensive care, foster a culture of prevention and ensure early diagnoses that boost their performance and quality of life,” said Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, Executive President of Médico Express.

The agreement also includes a strict substance control component, in line with the guidelines of the United States Drug Free Sport Association. Any treatment involving restricted medications will require prior approval from the academy’s medical team, ensuring transparency and compliance with sports rules.
