Huawei donates smart screen to the Ministry of Public Health to support technological development

• This collaborative tool is a new option for smart offices, integrating features such as handwriting recognition, UHD projection, video conferencing and open office applications.

Santo Domingo, DR.- The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) received from telecommunications company HUAWEI Dominicana the donation of an IdeaHub smart screen, with the aim of contributing to technological development in health and digital transformation in the country.

The handover was led by the Minister of Health, Dr. Daniel Rivera, and Cai Yifan, general manager of Huawei Dominicana, who highlighted the need to keep driving digital transformation in health.

The Health Minister expressed his satisfaction and gratitude for the modern equipment and said it will contribute greatly to the MSP’s work.

“We are extremely grateful to HUAWEI for getting directly involved in the technological advancement of the Dominican health system, and we hope other institutions can acquire this system, because the ease it offers is truly impressive given the great quality and technological breadth of this equipment,” he said.

Meanwhile, the general manager of HUAWEI Dominicana, Cai Yifan, congratulated Minister Rivera on his efficient handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. “I feel very fortunate to be in this country, and I want to congratulate the Minister on his excellent management of COVID-19. Thanks to his work, the Dominican Republic is a global benchmark in handling the pandemic,” he said.

With this contribution, Huawei continues to support the implementation of new technologies in the health system.

Yifan added that as a company they are committed to continuing to contribute to the country and to supporting the Government in meeting its technological development goals. He explained that Huawei’s social responsibility initiatives also focus on improving the health sector, an indispensable pillar for any country, especially in the current fight against COVID-19.

The IdeaHub screen was presented by Mabel Ortiz, Product Manager at Huawei Dominicana, who explained that more than a screen, it is a collaborative tool integrating features such as smart handwriting recognition, UHD projection, video conferencing and open office applications.

Also present at the handover were Antonio Quiroz, from Huawei Public Affairs, and engineer Óscar Lázala and Miguel Rodríguez Viñas, from the MSP’s Technology and Planning department.
