IntraCare Center and Hospital Materno Dr. Reynaldo Almánzar sign agreement to expand services

IntraCare and HMRA are forming a strategic alliance to provide their patients with chemotherapy treatment, as well as immediate, timely care suited to their needs. 

Santo Domingo: – IntraCare Center and the Hospital Materno Dr. Reynaldo Almánzar (HMRA) are consolidating their commitment to offering the public chemotherapy treatment and specialist consultations to high quality standards through a public-private collaboration agreement. 

One of the key points of the agreement between the two institutions is that HMRA will use the chemotherapy services offered by IntraCare Center.  

“This agreement between HMRA and our centre is important to us. HMRA is one of the most important high-complexity hospitals in the Dominican Republic, with high standards of safety and quality of care, and we at IntraCare are a centre designed with the patient in mind, with everything they need for peace of mind and to receive their treatment on time,” says Dr. Ortiz. 

She also highlights the importance of offering a space where patients can feel at ease, reducing waiting lists given how difficult this diagnosis is, and adds that the centre focuses on meeting care needs. She also stresses that the agreement will benefit a large number of patients.   

Dr. Freddy Novas, general director of HMRA, says that “this alliance expands our portfolio of services. We are grateful to reach this agreement with such a solid and responsible institution as IntraCare, which has comfortable facilities and high quality standards in preparing chemotherapy and caring for patients”. 

Through this alliance, IntraCare will refer and receive patients back so they can use HMRA’s complementary services, such as imaging, laboratories, surgery, inpatient care, intensive care and emergencies. 

The hospital may also ask IntraCare to produce chemotherapy preparations to be administered to patients at HMRA’s facilities by its own staff.  

Through this agreement, both centres seek to streamline chemotherapy treatment and specialist consultations and make them more accessible, with multidisciplinary care for cancer patients.   

The arrangement advances IntraCare’s vision of being the regional leader and benchmark in services for cancer patients, also providing palliative care and pain management for comprehensive care that fully meets patients’ needs.
