Safety tips for this Halloween weekend

• DiDi seeks to strengthen its safety pillar and contribute to the wellbeing of all community members through five recommendations.

• The app has more than 20 safety tools aimed at contributing to the safety and wellbeing of all users and driver partners.

Dominican Republic, 26 October 2022. A busy and fun weekend is coming up in which Dominicans can celebrate Halloween with friends and family, a celebration where sweets and costumes take centre stage. However, despite all the fun, DiDi recognises that during these days the number of people out and about increases, and with it the number of trip requests, so it is important to take the right precautions.

That is why, with the safety of all users and driver partners in mind, DiDi seeks not only to strengthen its safety pillar but also to contribute to the wellbeing of all community members through the following five recommendations, so that nothing gets in the way of celebrating this Halloween:

1. Emergency Button: If an emergency occurs during a trip arranged through the app, use the emergency button, which connects you to the 911 Emergency Line. At the same time, the DiDi 24/7 Support Centre will receive an alert with your location details and will contact you, activating the necessary support protocols for your situation.

2. Trip Information: Before starting the trip, check that the driver partner’s information matches what appears in the app. Make sure the photo matches the person and that the vehicle’s number plate, model and colour also match the information registered in the app. If anything raises doubts, don’t start the trip and report it through the app.

3. Share Your Trip: More and more users share their trip in real time. According to a survey carried out by the app, 54% of users share their trip with others. With this option, the community can share their location with trusted contacts in real time so they can be monitored for the duration of the trip.

4. Unmatch: You can unmatch from the user or driver partner, and if an incident occurs, it is important to report it.

5. Response Patrols: if required, security patrols through Dominican Watchman will support both the user and the driver partner, travelling to the location where they are requested.
