- Promerica Financial Corporation has injected 10 million dollars of capital into Banco Promerica to support its growth plan in the Dominican Republic, where its assets grew 25.9% in 2025.
Santo Domingo, February 2026. Banco Promerica has announced a capital injection of 10 million dollars from its parent company Promerica Financial Corporation, a strategic milestone in its more than 25 years in the Dominican Republic. The operation is aimed at further strengthening the institution’s favourable financial position and supporting its ambitious plan for sustainable growth in the Dominican Republic.
The bank has maintained sustained growth in its main financial indicators. At the close of December 2025, assets reached RD$86,992 million, a year-on-year increase of 25.9%, well above the 7.9% recorded by multiple banking.
On the loan portfolio, the bank reported growth of 32.8%, totalling RD$52,700 million against RD$39,683 million in the same period the previous year, comfortably above the system average, which stood at 9.1%. These results have been underpinned by prudent risk management, reflected in a stressed non-performing ratio of 4.9% (November 2025), which makes Banco Promerica the best performing bank among those serving the main customer segments of multiple banking in the Dominican Republic.
Carlos Julio Camilo, executive president of Banco Promerica, said: “This capitalisation represents a vote of confidence from our shareholders in the strength of our business model and in the long-term vision that guides each of our decisions. At Banco Promerica we reaffirm our commitment to the sustainable development of the Dominican Republic, driving innovation, promoting financial inclusion and actively supporting the growth of the country’s productive sectors,” said Camilo.
The bank’s growth has also been supported by an expansion plan that has brought it closer to its clients through the opening of multiple branches over the past five years. These include the offices in La Vega and San Francisco de Macorís, the modern Cibao Regional Centre in Santiago, and the Coral Mall, Gustavo Mejía Ricart, Gazcue and Independencia branches.
The bank has also made significant investments in technological infrastructure, strengthening its standing as a point of reference for innovation in Dominican banking. As a result of those efforts, it was recognised in the Gold category of the Superintendency of Banks’ digitalisation ranking.
With this capital injection, Banco Promerica reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the Dominican financial system and to the country’s sustainable development. The bank will continue to actively support productive sectors, promoting access to responsible financing, driving innovation and maintaining the highest standards of management, corporate governance and financial strength, with a clear long-term vision geared to generating positive impact for its clients, its strategic partners and the national economy.
