The representatives of the Dominican Association of Health Tourism (ADTS), Alejandro Cambiaso and Amelia Reyes Mora, President and Vice President, announced the content of the program that will be addressed during the 3rd International Congress of Health and Wellness Tourism to be held in the country, from September 1 to 2 at the facilities of the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo.
The president of the entity explained that the International Congress of Health and Wellness Tourism is the main activity of the sector throughout the Caribbean and aims to promote the exchange of experiences and promote the development of the country as a safe, ideal health destination for the development of communities of retirees.
Doctor Cambiaso says that medical tourism is an activity aligned with presidential goals, and this event constitutes a platform for multisectoral integration, business development, and significant investment opportunities,” he said.
“Currently, health tourism generates 70 billion dollars annually in the world and about 2.5% of air travel, so 80 countries have decreed it of national interest, constituting this congress a significant contribution to the transfer of technologies, knowledge, and relationships that strengthen the country’s positioning in health tourism, ”added the doctor.
Amelia Reyes Mora also stated that “this third congress, whose agenda will be composed of activities, business meetings, and presentations by local and international experts, offers its participants a direct link with influential personalities and decision-makers in the health, financial sectors, services, and tourism, both locally and internationally.” The vice president of the ADTS invited the leaders and managers linked to these sectors to participate in this important event.
The congress will integrate the main actors of the productive chain that makes up health tourism, the most recognized hospitals in the country, world medical tourism authorities, diplomatic community, major international health buyers, executives of American and Canadian hospitals, companies in the sectors insurer, financial, tourism, transportation, free zones, education and investment.
The agenda will feature the intervention of 26 national and international exhibitors who will present success stories, best practices, trends, processes, and legal regulations, among others.
The organizers said that medical tourism is aligned with national development goals and favors health indicators, since it raises quality standards, in addition to promoting international certifications and accreditations, care protocols, training and acquisition of cutting edge technology. All this translates into better processes and results for national and international patients, as well as job creation and foreign exchange and foreign investment in the national territory.
The activity is organized by the Dominican Association of Health Tourism and AF Strategic Communication, with the support of the various sectors involved in the development of health tourism in the country.
