- Banco Promerica held a business lunch with clients and partners at FITUR 2025 to strengthen alliances and support the growth of Dominican tourism.
Madrid, Spain. Banco Promerica held a business lunch during the 45th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2025, bringing together clients and strategic partners with the aim of strengthening alliances and creating new opportunities for collaboration in the tourism sector. The gathering highlighted the bank’s commitment to the sustainable, innovative development of this industry, which is key to the Dominican economy.
The event was attended by Carlos Julio Camilo, executive president of Banco Promerica in the Dominican Republic, who said: “Our presence at FITUR 2025 reflects our commitment to supporting the growth of the Dominican tourism sector. We are focused on encouraging initiatives that drive sustainability and innovation, contributing to the country’s economic development and creating value for our clients and strategic partners”.

In his address, Camilo highlighted the financial institution’s involvement in the country’s tourism projects, as well as Grupo Promerica’s experience in developing investment projects in the sector. Camilo also shared the financial achievements that establish Banco Promerica as the fifth most significant private bank in the country, among which he underlined the growth of its assets, which exceed USD 1,135 million, and its loan portfolio, which at the close of 2024 reached USD 652 million, growth of 25% against the 13% achieved by the top ten banks, once again positioning Promerica as the leader in growth in this area.
The day included a notable talk by Daniel Campos Lara, general director of Caribe Hospitality, who has led the development of landmark hotels such as the first Residence Inn in Latin America and the first Fairfield Inn in Central America. With more than 20 years of experience in the hotel sector, Campos shared global perspectives on the current trends and challenges of the tourism industry, highlighting the importance of building strategic alliances. His contribution provided valuable tools and success stories that inspired those attending.


The lunch took place at the landmark Centro Financiero Génova and was attended by Juan Bolivar Díaz, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Kingdom of Spain, together with his wife Ada Wiscovitch; Jacqueline Mora, deputy minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic; and Juan Bancalari, president of the Dominican Republic Association of Hotels and Tourism, accompanied by his wife Leonor Elmúdesi, along with other prominent figures and representatives of the business and financial sector, who took advantage of the occasion to talk and explore investment projects in tourism, reaffirming the importance of this industry as a sustainable economic driver.
