Santo Domingo. – Dr Alejandro Cambiaso, a leading figure in health and medical tourism in Latin America, was presented with the Certificate of Honour as a Distinguished Physician of Health and Society during the 2024 National Medicine Award, in recognition of his leadership in transforming the health sector and positioning the Dominican Republic as a world-class medical tourism destination.
As president of the Dominican Health Tourism Association, Dr Cambiaso has led public-private initiatives that strengthen international standards of medical care in the country. His work has earned him global distinctions such as the “Global Medical Tourism Leader” award, presented by the Medical Tourism Association.
In his role as executive president of Médico Express, he has introduced advanced medical technology, artificial intelligence, telemedicine, state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and innovative patient-centred care models.
