Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.– Médico Express received seven awards at the first edition of the 2026 Social Security Good Practices Award, becoming the most awarded healthcare provider in the competition organised by the Directorate General for Information and Defence of Social Security Members (DIDA).

The institution received the Gold Seal for its “Humanisation of Health Services” practice, the Gold Seal for “Risk Management, Detection and Prevention of Irregularities”, the Gold Seal for “User Experience” and a Mention for its “Comprehensive Patient Management” practice, recognitions that highlight its commitment to people-centred care, clinical excellence, patient safety and continuous improvement.

Médico Express also received three Special Mentions for High-Impact Innovation for the Dominican Social Security System (SDSS), in recognition of initiatives that contribute to strengthening, modernising and transforming health services for the benefit of members.

These distinctions recognise efforts aimed at driving innovation, digital transformation, comprehensive care management, operational efficiency and an improved patient experience, promoting more accessible, sustainable and humanised models of care.

The Social Security Good Practices Award was created by DIDA to recognise excellence in health management within the Dominican Social Security System (SDSS), distinguishing healthcare providers (PSS), health risk administrators (ARS) and institutions that develop innovative, efficient, humane and resilient models.

During the awards ceremony, the director general of DIDA, Elías Báez, highlighted that these awards are a tool for promoting continuous improvement, strengthening the protection of members and fostering a culture of excellence across the entire social security system.

The awards were granted following a rigorous technical evaluation process carried out by DIDA specialists and a jury made up of well-known figures from the social security and health sectors, ensuring objectivity, transparency and technical rigour.

Since it opened, Médico Express has touched the lives of more than 150,000 people through a comprehensive outpatient model that combines advanced technology, artificial intelligence, international quality standards and care centred on the needs of patients and their families.

Commenting on the distinction, Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, executive president of Médico Express, said these awards reflect the institution’s vision of building a more humane, safe and innovative healthcare model.

“These awards represent the effort and commitment of our entire team. They validate our mission of transforming lives through excellent care, always placing the patient at the centre of every decision. True innovation in healthcare happens when technology, quality and humanisation work together to create real value for patients and help strengthen the health system,” he said.

With these results, Médico Express reaffirms its position as a national benchmark in clinical excellence, patient experience and healthcare innovation, actively contributing to strengthening the Dominican Social Security System and to developing more efficient, sustainable models of care focused on creating value for the population.
