In addition to the relief measures, the bank invited customers to use its ATM network, mobile app and online banking platform to carry out enquiries and banking transactions safely and conveniently.
Santo Domingo, March 2020.- Banco Promerica Dominican Republic announced the measures it has taken in response to COVID-19, in order to keep effectively supporting all its customers, employees and families while contributing to the dynamism of the national economy.
The executive president of Banco Promerica, Carlos Julio Camilo, said the programme of initiatives focuses on providing customers with tools so they can continue meeting their financial needs in this special context.
Highlights among the measures include extending the credit card payment deadline to 28 days after the statement date, a 90-day grace period for the minimum payment and waiving late fees during that period.
Credit card cash advances made through the app or Internet Banking are also free of charge, and financing interest has been reduced by 20%. As for CrediPlus cash credit lines, he highlighted that they are free of closing costs.
He also stressed that customers can be granted up to 90 days’ deferral on personal, vehicle, mortgage and CrediPlus loan payments, according to their needs, by requesting it through their business officer or calling customer service. In addition, credit lines nearing expiry can be renewed for an additional 60 days, and interbank transfers can be made free of charge.
Focusing on continuing to add value to the customer experience, credit card purchases at supermarkets, pharmacies, clinical laboratories and health centres can be deferred for 3 months interest-free through Intra-Financing.
Customers are also being offered 20% cashback on purchases made with Promerica credit cards on home delivery apps such as PedidosYa, Uber Eats, All Delivery, Glovo, Colmapp and Hugo.
Meanwhile, to guarantee the safety of its customers, employees and suppliers, the bank has implemented prevention and protection protocols in its physical spaces, such as electrostatic disinfection and sanitisation of offices and branches, antibacterial gel at its service centres and sanitisation of teller and business areas every 30 minutes.
Also, one customer is served per representative, with one metre of distance between people in queues.
They also highlighted that employees at the Customer Interaction Centre (CIC) are working remotely, making it the first bank in the country to implement teleworking at its customer service centre, and all meetings are held via teleconference and video calls.
