CEMDOE begins hospital operations and opens its new services to the public

The institution marks a milestone in its development with the opening of new hospital areas, including its Emergency Unit, which strengthen its ability to provide comprehensive, safe and humane care.
Santo Domingo, DR — 19 January 2026. The Medical Center for Diabetes, Obesity and Specialties (CEMDOE) announced its formal transition to a hospital model, consolidating a new stage in its institutional development with the opening of several care areas, including its Emergency Unit, inpatient services, high-complexity operating theatres, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a haemodynamics suite and expanded diagnostic services.
This transformation strengthens the centre’s response capacity and allows it to care for patients in a comprehensive, timely and safe way, under a model aligned with international standards of quality and patient safety.
