Cleveland Clinic named to Forbes’ 2023 list of America’s Best Employers for Women

• The annual list ranks 400 US corporations across all industries.

August 2023.- Cleveland Clinic has been named to the Forbes 2023 list of Best Employers for Women.

Cleveland Clinic ranked 116th out of 400 US corporations across all industries and 26th in the health and social services sector.

“We are honoured to be recognised as one of the best employers for women in the United States,” said Kelly Hancock, DNP, Chief Caregiver Officer at Cleveland Clinic and holder of the Rich Family Endowed Chair of Caregiving. “Our vision for Cleveland Clinic is to be the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare. This recognition reflects our focus on our caregivers, 76 per cent of whom are women.”

Forbes partnered with Statista, a market research firm, to survey more than 60,000 Americans working for companies with at least 1,000 employees. According to Forbes, approximately 40,000 women were asked to rate their company’s work environment, pay and employee diversity, and whether they would recommend their company to a friend or family member. Their answers were also compared with those of 20,000 men to assess any significant differences in how the work environment is perceived.

Forbes also noted that women were asked to rate their employer on factors such as pay equity, parental leave policies, leadership training programmes for women, the representation of women in management and the employer’s response to incidents of discrimination. Additional research was also carried out into the presence of women among each company’s executives or on its board of directors.

The final list ranks the 400 employers with the highest scores.
