Santiago.- Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago (HOMS) treats more than 50,000 people a year in its emergency departments, most of them for respiratory and cardiovascular conditions and trauma resulting from traffic accidents.
Dr. Willy Hill, Director of Emergency Services at HOMS, highlighted that the centre has cutting-edge technology for treatment and diagnostic methods, as well as a highly trained and specialised medical team, available to provide timely and efficient care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, HOMS prioritises fast and efficient care in its emergency departments by reorganising care pathways and optimising clinical spaces, which has reduced waiting times for care by 14% for adult patients and by 29% for paediatric patients.
Likewise, this efficiency in emergency management, and the faster handling of our patients there, also improves admission times for those who need to be admitted.
“Health care is constantly changing, so we must regularly keep up to date with new treatments, diagnostic methods and the use of technological tools for evidence-based decision-making, with safety and people-centred quality,” the doctor said.
